This statement was last updated on 1st June, 2026. We at White Wallaby Services are dedicated to ensuring that our laundry services at 9A High Street, New Norfolk are accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities.

Our Commitment to Accessibility

White Wallaby Laundromat & Laundry Service is committed to providing an inclusive, accessible, and welcoming environment for all customers. We aim to meet the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) where applicable and continuously improve the accessibility of both our physical premises and customer services.

We recognise that accessibility is essential to ensuring all people can independently and comfortably access laundry services, including people with disability, older people, and those with temporary or situational limitations.

Internal Layout and Equipment Accessibility

Inside the laundromat:

  • Aisles are wheelchair accessible throughout the premises

  • All washing machines are front-loading and installed at accessible heights suitable for wheelchair users

  • All dryers are front-loading

  • Two dryers are specifically positioned for easy wheelchair access

  • The layout is designed to allow movement for wheelchairs and mobility aids

Customer Support and Assistance

We provide multiple ways to support customers:

  • Staff assistance is available on request

  • Clear written instructions and signage are provided throughout the laundromat

  • A step-by-step instructional video for using the payment kiosk is available and pinned on our Facebook page

  • Contact phone numbers are displayed throughout the laundromat for both calls and SMS/text messaging

  • An assistance button is available on-site for direct support

  • Email contact is available for customer enquiries

  • Service animals are welcome at all times

  • Pickup and delivery service is available for all customers, including those with mobility limitations

Physical Access to Our Premises

Our laundromat has been designed to support easy, step-free access:

  • Step-free, level entry into the laundromat

  • Main entrance door approximately 840mm wide

  • Door opens inward to the right

  • A hinged side door can be opened with assistance to provide a wider entry if required

  • Direct parking available at the front of the premises

  • Additional street parking available along the main street

  • Two accessible parking spaces located directly across the street

  • Customers may temporarily park in the driveway next to the laundromat for loading and unloading laundry

Toilets

There is no customer toilet on-site.

However, an accessible public toilet is available approximately 70 metres away at the Derwent Valley Council Chambers.

Sensory Environment and Comfort

We aim to create a calm, clean, and comfortable environment:

  • Comfortable padded seating is available for customers

  • A table are provided for convenience

  • Bright, clean LED lighting throughout the laundromat, including exterior lighting day and night

  • Skylight providing natural light

  • No background music is played

  • Environment is well ventilated

  • Typically mild fresh laundry scent

  • Clean white interior design

  • A gallery display featuring Tasmanian scenery photography and local artwork

  • Live indoor plants to enhance comfort and create a relaxing atmosphere
